On July 20, 2017, NFP Sports Co-Founder, James Thomson presented Old Saybrook High School incoming senior, Sebastiano Gallitto with the NFP Sports’s Top Seller Scholarship award for the 2016-2017 school year. The scholarship is a statewide achievement given annually to a student who raised the most money for their team selling fundraising products. Gallitto was the top selling student in the state of Connecticut out of 150 teams and over 6,000 student athletes. The Old Saybrook High School Boys’ Soccer team has annually sold the NFP Sports “Rams” Premium Discount Card. The product offers discounts to local businesses in the town and around the state. Over the past three seasons, Gallitto sold the “Rams” Premium Discount Card and raised over $10,000. At the scholarship presentation, Gallitto mentioned “I’m grateful for all the people who helped me and the people in Old Saybrook for supporting me. When I think of winning this year, I am always thinking of the soccer team and make sure Old Saybrook is at the top of the list every year”. Gallitto has been a previous recipient of a NFP Sports Top Seller Scholarship. He was a top seller for the 2014-2015 season and runner up for his 2015-2016 season. In addition to his 2016-2017 award, Gallitto will be awarded a total of $2,750 upon entering college for his two previous top selling seasons. His mother, Tanya Gallitto shared her thoughts on her son’s passion for fundraising “[Gallitto] wants to do what is best for the team and sets personal goals for himself and completes them”, said Tanya Gallitto. Old Saybrook Boys’ Soccer coach, Sam Barnes, was present for the scholarship presentation. The Old Saybrook Boys’ Soccer team has fundraised using NFP Sports for 17 years. “Everything we do extra in the program is paid for by the benefits of the Rams Card,” said Barnes. “We always set goals and push them to be the best they can be”. James Thomson of NFP Sports had the following to say about Gallitto’s performance, “If you consider the fact that we have run this scholarship program since founding our company in 2009, Seby’s performance is quite impressive. Out of approximately 1,200 fundraising campaigns and close to 50,000 student-athletes participating in our program over the last 8 years, he has sold the most. He embodies the drive and determination that makes working with high school student athletes so rewarding.” Sebastiano Gallitto will be an incoming senior for the Fall 2017 season. Good luck with your final fundraising season!
